Happy 4th of July!

July4-1

Today is July 4th, when America celebrates it’s Independence. Usually this is a day when friends and family gether around grills in backyards all over the country, and then find a great spot to watch the fireworks.  This year is no different, though the weather has been a little iffy so we’re hoping the fireworks display we plan to view doesn’t get rained out.

This 4th of July weekend is also special for Jenn and I as we moved into our new house in this neighborhood one year ago.  This neighborhood has been great!  Sadly, we missed the July 4th celebrations here last year, but we rectified that this morning… All the kids in the neighborhood decorate their bikes and do a mini-parade ending at a local park.  We didn’t think there’d be much more to it than that, but as it turned out the local Denver Fire Department brough a couple of trucks and there was even a police escort!

After the parade, the Fire Department guys had a special treat for the kids – they lifted the crane and fired off the hose. The kids had a great time running around in the spray!

We’re glad we chose this house! :)

More pics after the jump…
