Lucky Light…
By Tom on Sep 29, 2009 in Family, Portraits
I brought the second load of baby laundry upstairs this afternoon (it’s amazing how fast they go through burp cloths, blankets, clothes, etc!) and found mom and daughter had just finished a feeding session and Katherine was nodding off to sleep on Jenn’s chest. We’ve had mostly sunny conditions all day, with just a few clouds, but as I looked at them a large cloud moved in front of the sun and I saw the most amazing soft light! Of course, I RAN for my camera and manage to make it back upstairs with it before the cloud moved out of the way and I lost the magic light. I had time to blast off three quick frames before the cloud moved on (just set the camera to f/4 at ISO 400 and let it pick a shutter speed it liked).
As my Dad, the family’s newest Grandpa always says, “I’d sooner be lucky than good!” In this case, I’m glad I got the lucky light…
