Karla and Kane

Jenn’s cousin Karla wanted us to do some pics of her and her boyfriend Kane, and they came over tonight to do a few.  We moved a couch out of the way and threw up a simple three-light setup.  In this case, it was one flash behind them to give some separation light on the wall, the main light in an umbrella to camera-left, and I shot through a home-made ring flash to provide a little on-axis fill.

This was a pretty quick session, since they just wanted some simple portraits, so we did a few poses and then started playing around with them in Lightroom.  The picture up above has a “Retro” preset I made some time ago and was everyone’s immediate favorite.

But we wanted to try a few more processing looks as well, so we played around and came up with these:

Which is your favorite?  What other processing looks do you think we ought to try?

  1. I like the retro look as well, although the b&w is very classy. Just for fun you might try type of de-saturated look and also a old-time sepia and lomo look. Great portraits BTW
