So we had some awesome afternoon light today when I got home (sort of unexpected, as we’d had a spring storm last night/this morning with ~5 inches of snow…) and Katherine was in a giving mood. She really gave me some great looks while playing around with my old Fresno State ballcap. I had forgotten how much I love the 100mm macro lens for portraits!

The Mom’s Group that Jenn joined shortly after moving up here to Billings took the kids to the Kids Klubhouse on Saturday. Katherine didn’t quite get up on time, so we were a little bit late, but we still had fun. She wasn’t much of a fan of the slide (neither was Mom, actually, as they really are pretty steep so they got some speed and even caught some air on the last bump…) but really liked the “ball ball” room! Here’s a few pics to enjoy. Remember to click “Read More” below to see more than one pic.

Got the macro lens out tonight to get ready for a quick project tomorrow. Realized I hadn’t had it out in, like, forever so decided to play around with it for a bit. Katherine wasn’t exactly a willing model, but she did give me some better expressions than at the zoo this weekend…

Finally!
In more ways than one. We’ve finally broken the spell of long, dark, cold days with subzero temps and feet of snow. And I’ve finally taken some more pictures to add to the blog.
I know, it’s been way too long. So when we finally started to get some decently warm(ish) weekend days, we took Katherine out to ZooMontana. The local zoo is still struggling with financing (I can’t imagine running a resource-intensive place such as a zoo in this economy is easy), but we love the photo opportunities, and will value it for family trips such as this one. So we bought the annual pass. $50 was worth it. Here’s a few shots from our weekend stroll:
